Good Morning from Alexandria,
Well, the field aspect of the Hurricane Ike Catastrophe Field Team response is almost complete.
I came home Friday evening and most of our surveyors spent the weekend wrapping up files and getting ready to head home as well. We still have 3 surveyors on the ground at this time, Steve Sudol, Mike McCook and David Wiggin. It is my hope that these last 3 will be heading home in the next couple of days. Mike and David are wrapping up our final major salvage operation, the 58 Altima that is between houses on Clear Lake Shores, which was delayed through all of...... Read More

Hello Again from Texas,
We have had another productive weekend and Monday here in Houston.
The surveyors spent a fair amount of time this weekend processing paperwork and getting it to the adjusters in the office. As a result we have XX files closed and another XX files in which we have sent CTL (Constructive Total Loss) settlement documents out. Rob, Trisha, Andrea and Rocky have continued to work diligently to manage the files. The number of settlements and CTL's being processed should stay high over the next few days as the surveyors press to finalize the majority of the claims in e...... Read More

Hello again,
We have had another successful day in Texas.
In Galveston we have completed several salvage jobs over the last 2 days. We have completed all of the salvage jobs that we have been made aware of at Galveston Yacht Basin and Payco Marine.
We have completed several of our larger more complicated salvages on the north shore of Clear Lake and Randy Roden has done more damages appraisals over the last few days.
On the south side of Clear Lake we have continued to get salvage jobs done and move boats on to the salvage yard.
In the storage yard we have received our jac...... Read More

Howdy from the Great State of Texas,
We have had another successful day here in the field.
Starting from the North end of Galveston Bay, we continue to work our relationships in Baytown, and are currently awaiting the city to award the contract for the salvage there. Upon the award of this contract we will work with the chosen facility to sign specific contracts for our boats in this yard.
At the Storage Yard, all of our trucking resources are here in town and we expect the traffic to the yard to accelerate.
At the Houston Yacht Club the salvage work is progressing and Damage appraisa...... Read More

Hello again from Houston,
We have had a very productive Monday here in the Field.
The HYC now has a crane at the facility and salvage jobs got started there today. The general manager at the HYC has been very helpful and I think they have really appreciated all the help from our surveyors. Fred Wright from North Carolina has been our surveyor on site there.
Jim Wood and Mike McCook have both made contact with the city manager in Baytown where Bayland Park Marina is. This facility is a city owned facility with floating docks that broke loose from their pilings and are all in a pile near...... Read More

It was a good weekend for the CAT Team.
As we have previously advised we anticipate the salvor for the Houston Yacht Club to begin setting up on scene tomorrow and hopefully we will have some salvage operations underway starting late Monday or first thing Tuesday morning.
We had several salvage jobs occur over the weekend at Watergate Marine in the Clear Lake area and Randy Roden arrived Friday afternoon and cranked out Damage Appraisas (DAs) in and around Watergate and Waterford on Saturday and several more today. We also were able to complete several other salvages on the other side o...... Read More

Good evening everyone,
With Rick currently traveling on his way to Houston, he asked me to follow up with an update of today’s events.
We had the surveyors doing more recon work today along with identifying and tagging vessels. Additionally we asked them to focus on meeting with marina owners/managers/dock masters in order to establish a good relationship and see what we may be able to help them with.
Here are some brief summaries:
Freeport-Visited the area marinas and made contact with most of them. Several vessels in this area were identified and tagged at Ridge Harbor Marina. Th...... Read More

Just a quick update after today’s events,
The surveyors have fanned out today to do some recon…
Here are some brief summaries –
Freeport (south of Galveston Island) - there are some boats damaged and some moderate salvage issues in the area. It appears that this area did not get much surge and the winds were mostly offshore and the landside damage is not too bad.
Galveston Island - Still unable to access.
Clear Lake area (Kemah, Seabrook etc) the damages here are pretty bad, but as reported yesterday some marinas totally destroyed other mostly dock rash, sails and c...... Read More
