Toms Tips About Getting Hurricane Facts

By Tom Neale - Published September 01, 2011 - Viewed 594 times

1. The advertising-driven news media seem, in my opinion, to be less and less reliable in giving us the facts that we need to deal with hurricanes. Many seem, in my view, to be more interested in creating a show to attract viewers to satisfy their advertisers.

2. There are better sources. MyBoatUS.com has a great hurricane section where you get spaghetti models, wind band projections, the official NOAA tract with cone of probabilities and more.

3. There are also professional forecasters who are paid by their subscribers to give their best shot at good information. They don’t have the conflict of interest generated by advertisers. We use Chris Parker www.mwxc.com.
