My First BoatUS Blog

My first blog!

So where do I begin???

How about from the beginning... I've spent a good deal of my life near water. From living in Queens, NY and having a "pool" in my backyard to moving out to Long Island and spending my summers fishing off the shore of Robert Moses State Park. My Grandfather (Hugh Mulzac Senior) set the standard of Mulzac’s on the water with his service to the country as the first African American Naval Merchant Marine Captain to serve in a War during WWII.
So it's only natural I get my "feet wet" sooner or later and talk about some of my recent experiences boating, working for BoatUS and so on.
I'd never been much of a boating and cruising person till I started working at BoatUS. I've discovered a lot of things I didn't know about the boating industry and culture. It's really interesting and motivated me to look into getting my own boat or get onto a boat sooner than later...
I recently went out by the water to a place called Prospect Bay (which is pretty much a section of the Chesapeake Bay) in a small community called Grasonville, MD.
Grasonville is pretty much a boating community with a lively seasonal atmosphere. A lot of Maryland boaters are docked there and there's a few restaurants and activities for visitors to enjoy.
I took some pictures of the scenery and some boats to get my blog started off right!
Check it out and tell me what you think. -H
