French Polynesia Cruise Day 3, Huahine

Day Three - May 19, 2009

Huahine -- We did a lagoon cruise and snorkel on Huahine. There were about 15 people on the snorkel tour and we cruised along the coastline to our stop (which was off of a motu). This was the best snorkeling that we had seen so far. The water was only about 10 feet deep in spots, with much of it less than that. Marine life was everywhere and the water was clear. We had over an hour to snorkel here so we were able to take our time.

After snorkeling, we stopped at a motu beach where they had a dance lesson, pareo tying, and coconut husking demonstration. When we got back on the snorkel boat, we were served fresh fruit and our guide taught us how to make a palm frond basket.

We were dropped off directly at the ship just in time for the sailaway. And as we sailed away into the sunset we had a beautiful view of Bora Bora in the distance.
