Today was my big day to try Zip Lining, a new experience for me. We started the day by taking the tender to the marina. From there we walked to Nelson’s Dockyard (a historic site) and walked around for about an hour. After that we walked to the beach for the Beach BBQ set up by the Royal Clipper.
After lunch our bus had arrive to take us to the rain forest for our Zip Lining Adventure. Prior to leaving I had met the owner of the Zip Lining Company and after a long discussion about the safety of his lines (apparently doubled lined) we headed to the site. Once there, they outfitted us and gave us brief safety instructions. Off we went to the first platform out of 9 platforms. I was fourth in line behind my sister when I realized I was afraid of heights. I had a “minor panic attack” and decided I was not going to be able to do this. So I got off the platform. The owner continued to encourage me and after everyone had left the platform, I decided to go for it. I made it through all 9 platforms (never looking down).
Now that I had conquered my fear of heights (although I am not so sure I would do it again), we stopped by the local bar for a beer and back to the ship.
That evening the ship had a local steel band from Antigua in the Tropical Bar. We had great time dancing. I met many of the members of the crew and the Sports Team.
