With my bags packed the day before, I got up at 3:30 a.m. to catch my 6:00 a.m. flight to Miami. Once in Miami I met my sister and we continued onto Barbados. The plane was delayed about an hour and half leaving Miami but this was okay because the ship did not set sail until 9:00 or 10:00 that night. Once we arrived in Barbados the customs line took quite awhile to get through. While locating our luggage we were approached by a gentleman, Tom, who advised that our transfer was waiting for us. He had overheard my sister and I talking about the Royal Clipper on the plane. He was kind enough to help us locate our bags and help us to the van. On the van we met Marilyn and Frank who are BoatU.S. members. We finally arrived at the ship about 7:00. Upon boarding the ship, we stopped by the Tropical bar for a quick drink and then down to the check out the cabin. The cabin was small, but we did not plan to spend much time there. After unpacking we had dinner (the cruise director joined our table) and went to the top deck to watch the ship leave dock. That night the seas were rough but we fared well.
