Before I start, I really should introduce the BoatUS Catastrophe (CAT) Team.
This is the team that was in Texas:
Bottom row, left to right…
Fred Wright ( hailing from Charlotte, NC, Fred has been a CAT Team Member since Hurricane Fran in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC in 1996. His business name is Carolina/Atlantic Marine Services.
George Mansfield (formally one of the first TowBoatUS Licensees from West Palm Beach, presently George is semi-retired but is also a damage surveyor, and salver in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He's been with the BoatUS CAT Team for 7 years.)
Top row, left to right…
Rick Wilson (Assistant Vice President, BoatUS Marine Insurance Claims department and Director of the Hurricane Ike CAT Team)
Mike McCook (Mike was on the first BoatUS CAT team 25 years ago in 1983. Between Hurricanes he runs his business, MJ McCook Assoc. Inc/Marine Surveyors and Investigators in LaPlata, MD.)
Randy Roden (Randy's specialty is damage appraisals and he has his own company, Rand & Associates, Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida. He's been on the CAT Team since the early days and when he's not on the CAT Team he handles Marine Insurance claims for other major carriers, including BoatUS.)
Bob Misener (retired from BoatUS just a few months before Ike hit, Bob was persuaded to come back to work on the BoatUS CAT Team).
Jonathan Klopman (Jonathan hails from Marblehead, MA and when he's not on the CAT Team he is a Marine Surveyor - Johnathan Klopman, Marine Surveyor NAMS-CMS. His first BoatUS CAT Team was in 1992 for Hurricane Andrew.
Here are the behind the scenes people:
Andrea Toske (Claims Adjustor) and Rocky Flowers (Claims Adjustor) working from the BoatUS Florida Claims Office in Jacksonville.
Kristin Loyd (CAT Team Administrative Support), Rob Field (Adjusting Manager) and Trisha Cookson (Claims Adjustor) working from BoatUS HQ in Alexandria, VA. In front of them is a picture taken by the first BoatUS CAT Team 1983 from Hurricane Alissa.
The Texas CAT Team was up early every morning for a 7am teleconference call which included BoatUS HQ and the BoatUS Florida Claims Staff. They would meet in Mike McCook's hotel room for at least 20 minutes each morning.
Accommondations weren't the best for holding meetings, but the meetings lasted just long enough for everyone to get their assignments and give their updates, then they were all back out in the field.
