The Most Important Things We've Learned

Martha D of Youngstown, Ohio, asked "I know its not fair, but if you had to boil down the most important things you've learned so far this year, what would they be?"

From Douglas: This one's easy. First, it doesn't matter where you go, as long as you go. Second, where ever you do go, it'll take longer to get there than you thought, and if it's as good as you hoped, you'll stay a lot longer than you figured on (and that's the treat). And the third important thing we've both learned is that, after apologizing for your tone, you should never start a sentence with the word "but."
