Bass is king again as the overwhelming favorite target of American anglers, an AnglerSurvey report from late 2012 shows.

Largemouth or spotted bass were the top species sought, coming in at 55.3 percent. And after panfish at 35 percent, smallmouth bass were the next favorite at 26.7 percent.

Trout, catfish and walleye are among the top 10, and the sturgeon is the bottom feeder with only 0.3 percent of anglers targeting them.
