Every year, many owners of stolen boats are less fortunate; they never find their boats again. Make sure you keep at least a copy of all valuable documents of the boat-such as the hull identification number (HIN), registration number, engine and outdrive serial numbers, electronics serial numbers, make and model numbers, etc.-in a safe place so you can provide important tacking information to authorities if your boat is stolen.
