Wisconsin gets some nasty storms blowing off Lake Michigan in the winter, like the one that came ashore at Southport's Gatti Marina with 70-mph winds, frozen spray, and flying sand. Only the boats on the windward side of the marina were affected; a few rows back, boats were clean as a whistle. Ice outside the marina's fence was 6' deep. The boat above ended up with over 12" of water inside. However, the water could not be removed until April because it froze solid. By then, the interior sustained $7000 in damages. The engine also had to be removed and de-watered. Fortunately, the owner had ice and freezing coverage added to his BoatU.S. Yacht insurance policy.
