Tow Me to the Bassmaster Classic:

An Arkansas River Win by Way of a (Little) Red Towboat

Dear Friends:

Chris Jones, a machine shop supervisor with dreams of crafting a career as a professional angler was fishing the Bassmaster Central Open in September on the Arkansas River when his outboard motor died – just as he was in position to win. Instead, Jones found himself stranded several miles from the tournament launch and weigh-in facility. “My motor just conked out,” said Jones. “I figured I was toast.” He called TowBoatUS Dispatch. Our red towboat arrived to provide a quick tow that not only allowed Jones time to get the outboard repaired, but also go onward to win the tournament. Subsequently, the victory also qualified him for the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.

Now that Chris is on his way to the big leagues, we asked this very down-to-earth guy if he’d do a fancy-schmancy photo shoot last week in Oklahoma that we could use to highlight this textbook case for having a BoatUS on the water towing plan. So, here’s a few shots of the photo shoot – taken behind the scenes – that our highly talented marketing agency, Dynamic Sponsorships, just sent us:

I hope you enjoy this backdoor look at our industry. I also think this story proves the value of having an on the water towing plan from BoatUS. Our “Unlimited” towing plans start at $67 annually (freshwater) and include benefits of BoatUS Angler membership. For more go to www.BoatUSAngler.com.
