ALEXANDRIA, Va., December 3, 2012 – (above) The young ladies of Brownie Troop 915 boarded the towing vessel Captain Wise of the TowBoatUS Potomac Marine fleet for a “boat” ride at the 43rd Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade held this weekend in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Over 100 Scottish Clans, pipe and drum bands, Scottish dancers, dignitaries and, of course, Santa Claus, marched through the cobblestone streets to the cheers of thousands of merry makers – many in kilts. With the help of TowBoatUS Potomac Marine’s Captain Terry Hill, the girls also earned a merit badge.
The Parade annually draws more than 30,000 and is hosted by The Campagna Center, which draws together the resources of the Alexandria community to strengthen families and provide programs that help children become caring, productive adults.
