Fishing, Cruising, Maintenance Seminars Sponsored by BoatUS

ALEXANDRIA , Va., Dec. 17, 2007 – It’s easy to go back to school with the Boat Show University to be held at the Seattle Boat Show slated for January 2 4 to February 2, 2008. Held at the show’s Qwest Field location and sponsored by Boat Owners Association of The United States, “Boat Show U” offers a series of seminars and classes designed to expand boating knowledge and safety. Over 240 free, 45-minute seminars and dozens of three hour advanced courses are being offered (for a fee), featuring nautical experts such as author Nigel Calder and weather guru Lee Chesneau.

For the advanced courses, attendees may elect to take a one half-day class for $39 or complete an entire curriculum over two days for $129. For example, the Cruising the Inside Passage curriculum includes a number of three-hour classes on preparing to go, the best routes to get there as well as all of the special things to see and do, including wildlife, fauna and even the best restaurants and marinas along the way.

“Boat Show U” also features a Fish Academy with advanced courses on halibut, salmon and tuna fishing and catching crabs. Additional advanced course cover subjects such as seamanship, sail trim, boat maintenance and cruising to Alaska.
