Red Tow Boats on the River Have New Name and Added Service on Lake Mead

LAKE MEAD, Nev., March 22, 2016 – When recreational boats break down, run aground or need a little help getting back to the launch ramp or slip, the red response boats of Vessel Assist Needles and Vessel Assist Lake Mohave have been there to lend assistance. Now the 24-hour on water towing and assistance service has a new name: TowBoatUS Needles and TowBoatUS Lake Mohave, and the company has opened a third location – TowBoatUS Lake Mead.
The move to rename Vessel Assist to TowBoatUS – with locations in CA, AZ, OR, WA, HI and British Columbia, Canada – recognizes TowBoatUS standing as North America’s largest provider of on water assistance with over 300 locations and 600 towing response vessels.
“Other than the name change, boaters will still see the same familiar BoatUS buoy logo on the hull and our professional captains at the helm,” said owner Capt. Greg Ewing. “And now our professional 24/7 assistance has come to Lake Mead. This is such a remote area that asking for someone to come get you after an unexpected breakdown really isn’t an option for a lot of boaters. We will get you safely home when your boat won’t.” Ewing adds that he’s working with “Every marina on Lake Mead in a partnership effort to share the news of the full-time, professional round the clock assistance.” Service on Lake Mead National Park is available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
Much like an auto club for boaters, TowBoatUS offers on water Unlimited Freshwater towing membership plans for boaters and anglers for just $72 a year. There are no deductibles and all BoatUS towing memberships are good for any boat you own, rent or borrow and include a range of discounts with BoatUS membership and a subscription to BoatUS Magazine. Without a towing plan, boaters face costs that average over $700 per incident nationally. Ewing’s tow boat captains offer towing memberships locally and they may also purchased at www.BoatUS.com/towing or by calling 800-888-4869.
To contact TowBoatUS Needles, Lake Mohave or Lake Mead, call 928-788-1815 or dial BoatUS 24-hour towing dispatch at 800-391-4869. The company can also be reached via smartphone with the free, BoatUS Towing App or by hailing on VHF radio channel 16.

About Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS):
BoatUS is the nation’s largest organization of recreational boaters with over a half million members. We are the boat owners’ voice on Capitol Hill and fight for their rights. We help ensure a roadside breakdown doesn’t end a boating or fishing trip before it begins, and on the water, we bring boaters safely back to the launch ramp or dock when their boat won’t, day or night. The BoatUS Insurance Program gives boat owners the specialized coverage and superior service they need, and we help keep boaters safe and our waters clean with assistance from the non-profit BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water.
