The Newest On-the-Water Assistance Port for Capt. Andrew Adams

BoatUS Towing, the nation’s largest on-the-water towing service for recreational boaters, has added a location on Florida’s Panhandle with the opening of TowBoatUS Port St. Joe/Mexico Beach, located just north of Cape San Blas. It is the third towing port for Capt. Andrew Adams, who also operates TowBoatUS Destin, FL, and TowBoatU.S. Panama City, FL, which brings the total number of TowBoatUS ports in the Panhandle to nine.

TowBoatUS Port St. Joe/Mexico Beach has 25-foot Mako with twin 200 h.p. outboards stationed at Mexico Beach Marina. It can be identified by its distinctive red hull with white bow stripe and “TowBoatUS” lettering along its side. The boat carries a full complement of towing and salvage equipment including extra fuel, pumps, airbags and battery “jump packs” to handle every breakdown from running out of fuel to running aground.

Capt. Adams opened his first Destin location in 2005 and added the Panama City location in May of 2006. With the opening of his third new location in as many years, Adams says business is growing. “More boaters are coming to the region and looking for reliable assistance that they can call on 24-hours a day,” he said.

Like an auto club, BoatUS offers on-the-water assistance plans starting at around $37 a year.
