What do you do at BoatUS?

I oversee the day-to-day operations of the Membership Services call center where my team answers calls from Members. We answer over 100,000 calls a year! The Services Team handles every type of call from Members wanting to join, renew, upgrade their towing to changing their address or requesting new cards. Our 800# (395-2628 ) is everywhere so we also field calls for different departments making sure they get to the right team!

1991. I started as a Catalog Sales rep entering phone orders for Members from our equipment catalog In 1997 I moved to Membership as Supervisor (Catalog Sales moved to FL 3 months later….great timing on my part ) and 12 years later still loving every minute!

What is the most unusual phone call or assignment you've been given while at BoatUS?

As Manager I receive calls from Members everyday…Most of the calls I handle are Supervisor calls….How can you help me? What are you going to do about it? Your rep was awesome! Great Service just wanted to let you know. These calls are what I love most… I get the chance to help and satisfy the Member and also hear what a great job my team is doing.

What's your favorite thing to do while boating?

I don't personally own a boat.. But having friends with boats is great! We try and get out on the water every weekend during the summer! We enjoy rafting up with friends on the Potomac River, visiting Tims II or going over to Wades Bay to collect sharks teeth! My favorite trip is going to DC by boat to watch the 4th of July fireworks every year!!

What is your favorite vacation spot?

This year I had the pleasure in taking my first cruise ever! It was aboard the Star Clippers- Royal Clipper Ship and we sailed to the Grenadines Islands. It was paradise and the color of the water….WOW! My favorite spots were St Lucia & Tobago Cay!
