TRAILER ASSIST Service Agreement
The BoatU.S. Inland ANGLER TRAILER ASSISTTM program for boat trailering breakdowns provides a range of benefits to enrolled Members, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To obtain roadside service or any other services listed in this SERVICE AGREEMENT call the BoatU.S. 24-Hour Dispatch Center at 1-800-732-9620.
The Inland ANGLER benefits for Members include having their tow vehicle and/or boat trailer serviced on the road or towed to a destination of choice, with payment provided up to $150. The Inland ANGLER Plus benefits for Members include payment for having their tow vehicle and/or boat trailer serviced on the road or towed to the nearest repair facility or safe location up to 100 miles from the original breakdown location.
SERVICE applies to your boat trailer or towing vehicle when either suffers a breakdown while trailering the boat in the United States, Canada or Mexico. "Trailering the boat" is defined to include towing the boat's trailer to and from the boat as well as using the trailer to move the boat. Flat Tire Assistance is also available to your boat trailer when disabled at its normally kept "home" location, your home or at a storage facility. TRAILER ASSIST does not provide for vehicle related breakdowns or towing of the trailer at or from their normally kept "home" location including your home, at a storage facility or at a repair facility.
PAID SERVICES
• 24-Hour Dispatch Assistance – 1-800-732-9620 for calls in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
• Flat Tire Assistance – Your spare tire (mounted on a wheel) will be placed on the hub, or air will be added if the flat tire is not punctured.
• Battery Boost – A service vehicle will provide a jump start if your towing vehicle will not start, leaving your towing vehicle and boat trailer stranded away from home.
• Fuel Delivery – A fuel supply will be delivered where possible, if your towing vehicle runs out of fuel while trailering your boat. You are responsible for the cost of the fuel.
• Lockout – If you lock your ignition key within your towing vehicle (while trailering your boat), a service person will attempt to gain entry to the passenger compartment.
• Towing – If either your towing vehicle or your boat trailer are disabled (or stuck at a ramp) while engaged in trailering the boat, and they cannot be serviced on the roadside, the vehicle and/or boat trailer will be towed to the nearest repair facility or safe location up to 100 miles from the original breakdown location.
LIMITS and EXCLUSIONS
BoatU.S. will make efforts to dispatch a service provider to complete the above listed SERVICES where available. If after reasonable efforts this is not successful, you will have the option of having your boat trailer and/or towing vehicle towed to the nearest repair facility or safe location within 100 miles of the original breakdown location, or a maximum payment of US $500.00 per incident. BoatU.S. does not provide for labor repairs, diagnosis, battery charging, the delivery or cost of parts to the disabled vehicle or boat trailer and does not provide for service at a repair facility. Service does not apply if insurance or other prepaid towing services are providing for the same incident. Service does not apply if insurance or other prepaid towing services are providing for the same incident. Service does not include "wreck removal" due to highway accident or other cause.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Your "boat trailer" refers to a boat trailer legally owned, registered, licensed and operated by you for your personal boating recreation. This Service does not include boat trailers engaged in or designed for commercial activity, rented, borrowed or engaged in activities other than trailering your boat. Service does not include on-the-water assistance.
This SERVICE AGREEMENT becomes effective at 11:59 PM on the day of payment and expires with your Membership. It is not transferable and may not be assigned. This SERVICE is not intended to replace proper use and maintenance of your boat trailer and towing vehicle. BoatU.S. may, at its sole discretion, withdraw this SERVICE AGREEMENT for abuses including excessive use.
The service providers utilized by BoatU.S. are independent contractors and are not employees of BoatU.S. or its affiliates. Liability for loss, damage or unsatisfactory workmanship remains with the company or facility that is providing the service. This SERVICE AGREEMENT is not a promise of rescue, is not an insurance policy and provides no indemnification for liability, property damage, personal injury, loss of use or value.
SERVICES listed in this agreement may be limited due to height & width restrictions of the vehicle, boat and or trailer. These restrictions may vary by State, Canadian Province and/or Federal Department of Transportation regulations. PAID SERVICES are limited to those specified in this agreement and are not provided for pre-existing conditions.

On the Water Towing Service Agreement
As a Member in good standing of the BoatU.S. ANGLER Program, payment of on-the-water towing service is available for service provided by Approved Towing Companies within the parameters of your selected Membership Package in effect at the time of the boat breakdown or soft ungrounding as defined in this Service Agreement. The two packages available are Inland ANGLER and Inland ANGLER Plus. The Inland ANGLER Package provides up to $150 of on the water towing service eligible for payment under this service agreement. The Inland ANGLER Plus Package provides for the cost of up to 30 miles of on the water towing assistance from your point of breakdown. Dispatch assistance is available 24-hours a day by calling 800-732-9620.
The Inland ANGLER and Inland ANGLER Plus packages apply to any recreational boat owned, borrowed or chartered by you that is 26 feet or less in length. Service provides payment for the towing of your disabled boat, on the water battery jumpstarts and delivery of fuel to avoid a tow, ungrounding assistance for a soft grounding and towing of your disabled boat from a restricted use dock for the purpose of making repairs, subject to availability. A restricted use dock is one from which you are required to move immediately, i.e. fuel or restaurant docks and docks without overnight facilities. Thirty days following the initiation of a Membership or an upgrade from Inland ANGLER to Inland ANGLER Plus, the towing service is expanded to include up to ½ of the cost to tow your disabled boat from an unrestricted use dock or mooring, i.e. home docks or marinas, for the purpose of making engine repairs. Member must be onboard the disabled boat for all tows originating from a dock or mooring.
One Member’s benefit applies per incident. An incident is an event or series of events arising from the breakdown. You are responsible to pay any expenses incurred in excess of your service level at the time service is delivered. In an emergency situation, contact the local authorities immediately. In all other situations, contact the local BoatU.S. Approved Towing Company; if an approved towing company is not available or there is not one in the area, contact the 24-Hour Dispatch Center via cell phone at 800-732-9620 prior to accepting towing assistance. Upon authorization by BoatU.S., you are then eligible to be reimbursed for towing from a breakdown location on the water to the location of your choice and soft ungrounding assistance up to $10 per foot of the boat, not to exceed $150 under the Inland ANGLER package or a total on the water towing distance of 30 miles from your point of breakdown at a maximum hourly rate of $150 under the Inland ANGLER Plus package. To receive reimbursement consideration, the invoice must be submitted within 90 days of the tow. Benefits or reimbursement payments under this service agreement may not be transferred or assigned to any other party.
Your Towing Service becomes effective 11:59 PM on the day of payment. This Service does not apply to: boats over 26 feet in length, service provided by good samaritans, incidents that occur while boating on waters managed by the USCG, pre-existing conditions; or battery jump starts, dive service, and fuel delivery at a dock; or any tow from a repair or storage facility; or salvage, including but not limited to hard groundings, or any assistance requiring more than one vessel, pumps, divers, airbags or other special equipment; or the cost of fuel, supplies or equipment; or charges for escort, navigational assistance, search for lost vessels, retrieving anchors or other boating equipment; or charges to repair, haul, launch, commission, decommission, moor, dock or other marina charges. It does not apply to you as a guest or as a paid captain on any boat; or any boat used for commercial purposes. Service will be provided to the safe limits of the local towing company’s capabilities, but may be limited or will not be rendered when the disabled vessel cannot be safely or reasonably reached or secured and/or properly serviced without damage or grave danger to either boat or people on board. This Service and Service Agreement is not a promise of rescue and will be limited to that which can be provided with equipment available to the local service provider. If service from a commercial provider is not available, BoatU.S. will contact a local government agency to assist. This Service is not an insurance policy and does not provide for any liability or damages arising out of injury to persons, boats or property.
You are required to use care and diligence in the operation and maintenance of the boat. BoatU.S. may, at its sole discretion, withdraw this Service for abuses including excessive use. This Service Agreement does not apply if insurance or other prepaid towing services are providing for the same incident and it expires with your Membership.
